Bow Making
Bow Making
Each bow is conceived as a unique instrument — a synthesis of tradition, materials science, and the intimate understanding of the musician's needs.
The art of bow making lies at the intersection of precision engineering and aesthetic. Every curve, every gram of weight, every fiber of wood contributes to the voice of the instrument it will serve.
Each bow begins with a careful selection of the finest Pernambuco, Katalox, Ipe, and other responsibly sourced hardwoods. These are complemented by natural materials such as ebony, horn, mammoth ivory, as well as refined elements including mother of pearl, precious metals, silk windings, and fine leathers.
From the initial selection of the wood blank to the final adjustment of balance, each bow passes through dozens of meticulous steps. The process honors centuries of archetier tradition while incorporating contemporary understanding of acoustics and mechanics.
